Happy Tuesday !!!!!  I am making progress on my to do list at home, painting a bedroom and bath and somehow fitting in Christmas decorating ... My daughter will be home from school this weekend, I will put her on cookie duty..

Wonderful Christmas in the Park event last night ... The park was full of people and items for sale. The shop had a great turn out it was so warm we had the door open.

Christmas in the Park is today in Hammondsport on the square, there will be food, music and christmas items for sale.  The shop will be open late today as will all the other shops.Come and join us ...

This weather is amazing!!! I keep waiting for the deep freeze but nothing yet...so i will just assume the weather folks are on the spot..

I have been trying to get my head wrapped around the blog as to which way to go on postings.. Then I thought just start typing and let it go with the flow.
Here goes....
Not sure how I have ended up here at this place in my life ,wanting to bring items back to life and find a purpose for them again  .. go figure I guess you can't predict life !
I love having the store and all that goes with it. What really gets me going is when I find a gem in the rough and see it for what it can be or exploring a barn for items that haven't see the light of day in ages.
Hopefully this will turn out to be an awesome ride.......

Furniture

Furniture is a necessity... Such as a table its a place to eat and spend time with family, or a cabinet to keep treasures safe, maybe throw in a bed with soft comfy blankets to snuggle in.
Why talk about furniture ?
Next time you look at older furniture look at the quality of its craftsmanship and how it was most likely handmade with a pride in workmanship. Sadly that art is far and few between but thanks to antique and vintage shops its still an option...So when you look for furniture give older pieces a chance you will be pleasantly surprised!!!

Craft show this weekend..... The village of Hammondsport becomes a mass of people all over the place.We could not be more grateful for them and the weather......
Although whens its all done we are grateful to be able to put our feet up  ....

Here is a pick i did in a relatively clean barn... sometimes it can get hairy,among other things...and we end up getting well to put it nice extremely, disgustingly,gross !!! But for some unexplainable reason I love it!
